Day 2

Today began the real fun. With our attention now off the fizzled out Gustav, we could get down to business of the FULL convention.

I am looking forward to a fun night of good speeches and interviews to show the that the future leaders of tomorrow are Republicans. Once we educate someone on the political process, logically they tend to vote Republican.

The big question is whether Sarah is the real thing? I believe she is.

Huckabee

Our breakfasts are legendary. We have some of the best speakers at the convention right at our table. Today was Mike Huckabee. And boy is he a funny guy: "why is there no ammunition for sale in Alabama? Because they bought it all up when they heard Russia invaded Georgia."

Karl Rove fmr. Congressman Bonilla Secretary of Education

The evening kicked off with me going on Dutch radio, doing an interview in Dutch! What a cowboy from TX!

I got to wander the floor during the night to do interviews and get up close for speeches. This was truely historic.

Stay Tuned for more!

CHRIS DANIEL: Youngest Elected Official in attendance to the 2008 Republican National Convention

Back in June of 2004, Chris Daniel became the youngest delegate from Texas to attend the Republican National Convention in New York. Then only 22 and a senior at the University of Texas, Chris Daniel wowed the nation as one of the most dynamic and magnanimous delegates at the RNC.

Now June 2008, Chris Daniel has once again been elected to be part of the Texas delegation to this year’s RNC in Minneapolis, Minn. This time, Chris is the youngest ELECTED official in attendance.

After serving as the youngest delegate from Texas to the RNC in 2004, Chris Daniel continued to become involved in the Republican Party: block-walking for dozens of candidates, organizing clubs, giving countless speeches for Conservative groups like the FairTax, and becoming a local precinct chair.

During the November Election in 2006, Chris Daniel unseated the Board Chair of Lone Star College to become the youngest currently elected official in the entire state of Texas, winning by over 40,000 votes in a bottom-ballot race. Lone Star College is effectively the 2nd largest community college system in Texas, with 6 campuses and 7 satellites, 50,000 students, 180 million under budget, and a 1,400 sq mile service area encompassing five counties. Chris Daniel serves a 6 year term on the nine member board.

Chris Daniel was elected 1st alternate delegate from the 7th Congressional District of Houston, Texas, during the Texas State Convention.

Day 1:

I've managed to meet some pretty incredible people. The Day began with a huge kick off breakfast at the Crown Plaza, St. Paul with guests such as our own Texas Party Chair Tina Benkaiser and Vice Chair Robbin Armstrong, as well as Attorney General Greg Abbott, Senator John Cornyn, and First Lady Laura Bush.

The day continued with excellent meetings with fellow delegates and various news interviews.

Then the real excitement happened when I walked to the Excel Center for the kick off of the convention. I walked through the notorious protesters with ease as they took one look at this Texan and left him alone--must have been the cowboy hate, broad shoulders, and the fact I might have been packing.

The Convention Kickoff was great in itself as I got to meet many a famous person, including Chris Farley's brother who is staring in the upcoming American Carol, and Miss Minnisota with Miss Teen USA.

The evening wound down with the knowledge that our convention will be back on track after Gustav turned out to be not much of a storm ;)

Stay tuned for more from the convention!
